We all experience is pain. Yet, we do not have to face it alone. We can face pain with faith that God is with us and will help us endure.
Luke 23:27-31 says, “As Jesus carried His cross, He saw women mourning for Him. But instead of focusing on His own suffering, He spoke to them—acknowledging their pain.”
Jesus didn’t just endure pain; He engaged it. He faced His suffering, yet still showed compassion to others. There‘s a difference between carrying our cross and facing our pain. Carrying the cross, as Jesus teaches, involves accepting the sacrifices and responsibilities of discipleship. Facing our pain, however, requires confronting the deep sorrows and challenges of life. Carrying the cross is an active choice to follow Christ‘s path, facing pain comes as an unwelcome confrontation demanding resilience and faith.
Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us: ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.’ Sometimes, we don’t understand the pain, but God’s plan is bigger than what we see.”
“Today, if you’re hurting, bring it to God. And if you know someone who’s struggling, reach out. Jesus met people in their pain—even while carrying His own. Can we do the same?”
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul.”
