Have you ever felt stuck; like you were waiting… and waiting… and waiting… and nothing was changing?

Psalm 40 begins with these words, “I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.”

The psalmist doesn’t start with praise. He starts in the pit; a place of despair, uncertainty, and fear. But God doesn’t leave him there. God lifts him up, sets his feet on solid ground, and then does something great. God puts a new song in his mouth. Not just for him. But so others might see, hear, and find hope. That’s the truth for us. God doesn’t just rescue us from despair! God turns our story into a testimony.

If you’re still waiting, don’t give up. And if you’ve been lifted out of the pit, spread the word.
