Sometimes life feels like deep water.

Psalm 130 begins with a cry many of us have felt:
“Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.”

Maybe your depths look like grief.
Maybe it’s guilt.
Maybe it’s anxiety that keeps you awake at night.

Here’s the good news of this psalm: God hears prayers from the deep.

You don’t have to clean yourself up before you pray.
You don’t have to have perfect words.

You just have to cry out.

The psalm reminds us that with God there is forgiveness… and steadfast love.

And even when the night feels long, the psalmist says we wait for God like watchmen waiting for the morning.

Because the morning always comes.

If you’re in a hard season today, remember this:
The depths are not the end of your story.

God hears you.

And hope is on the way.
